Linkin Park had completely and profoundly flipped the script on what was considered nu metal at the time, offering a combination of metal, industrial, punk, pop, electronic and hip-hop in their songs.

The band was named after lead singer, Chester Bennington, used to drive by Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, CA after practice and it grabbed his attention.

Linkin Park was formed in Agoura Hills, California in 1996.

How?

Linkin Park was founded by 3 friends in high school, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson created a 4-track demo after graduating in Shinodas bedroom, it wasnt until 1999 when they finally added Chester Bennington as their lead singer and changed their band name from Xero - to Linkin Park after signing with Warner Bros in 2000.
